The coin is a celebration of the Modern Century in France. It symbolizes the contemporary artistic France. It celebrates on one hand an iconic building of contemporary architecture, the Georges Pompidou Centre, and on the other hand an artist representative of the international influence of France over Fashion, Yves Saint Laurent. The year 2016 marks the 80th anniversary of the fashion designer’s birth.
